ABSTRACT
Orobanche alsatica Kirschl., a rare and endangered species in Poland, was found at a new locality on
Czerwona Mt. near Bolechowice village (central Małopolska Upland, S Poland) in thermophilous fringe
communities (Geranion sanguinei alliance). The newly discovered population consisted of 24 specimens
in 2018 and is one of the most numerous on the Małopolska Upland. To preserve the population, active
conservation (repeated cutting of shrubs and mowing of the herb layer) and monitoring are required.
