ABSTRACT
The paper describes a new locality of Primula matthioli L. from the Pilsko Group in
the Beskid Żywiecki Mts. The species occurs in a stream valley where fragments of the Chaerophyllo-
Cicerbitetum alpinae complex developed. The flora is dominated by tall-herb species of the
Mulgedio-Aconitetea class and its lower syntaxa. The population of P. matthioli consists of ~200
individuals, most of which develop flowers and capsules. Species abundance and habitat inaccessibility
suggest that the population is in very good condition.
